1:4 Pregnancies Result in Miscarriage. Sorry, I Mean Criminal Homicide

Check out this new Utah bill. If you haven’t already seen it that is.

This new bill, sitting primed on the governors desk and awaiting his signature (before most people even knew that it existed) looks to upgrade miscarriages into full blown criminal homicide. Investigation and all.

But don’t get TOO worried about it, after all this bill only seeks to potentially criminalize 1 in 4 pregnancies.

It’s not that big of a deal, right? They’ll only be prosecuting those miscarriages that were a result of a woman’s “intentional” or ‘reckless” behavior as deemed by law. Then again it doesn’t matter if you had every intention of keeping the baby, or if you were unaware that your actions may have caused miscarriage. As long as something you did lead to the miscarriage, and it can be proven that such activity was a known risk, you’re on the hook. (Or in the jail cell, depending.)

More frivolous money spent on reducing woman’s rights and safety. Thanks Utah.
